Making Yo Yo's

Yo Yo's are wonderful old fashioned items! They can be used in a multitude of ways! You can make an entire quilt using them or table covering! I like to take scraps of Christmas fabric and then make a Yo Yo template using a coffee cup, and then making up scads of them, sewing them together side to side and using them as garlands for gift baskets or even the tree! These make great take along projects for the car or the Doctors office and since done totally by hand, they are a breeze!!

1. Trace on your fabric using template and then cut out on the traced line. 2. Turn over1/4 inch wrong sides together and baste 1/4 inch using a strong, matching color thread. ( I used black so you could see it in pic!) 3. Leaving thread attached pull thread to gather until it is all gathered in tightly. It will look like a little bag purse! Secure your thread by knotting and then arrange your Yo Yo by pulling and flattening to get the Yo Yo look.

4. This is your finished yo yo!!
