Butterfly Templates

 

Instructions given are for a single block

There are 8 "Garden Roses and 1 Butterfly" block in this quilt

For all 8 Garden Roses  and 1 Butterfly Block in this Quilt:

You will need:

Red Floral

Dark Green

Light Green

Medium Red floral

Solid Red

1/8 yard

1/4 yard

1/4 yard

1/8 yard

Scrap
Scraps of choice for butterfly appliqué scraps

Instructions for one block

 

 

 

 

 

Remember to use a scant 1/4" seam and to press when completed!

For making the Butterfly block you will need a piece of the background fabric that is 9 to 10 inches square and some scraps of choice in the color that you decide. After the appliqué is finished, press and trim to your 8 inch square size!

You will also need a piece of black embroidery thread for the butterflies antennae (separated, only use 3 strands) Just do a backstitch or outline stitch.

 Thread to match your fabric.

Print out the templates on the Pdf above, and appliqué your favorite way!

You will only need 1 Butterfly block for your quilt!
